Arab League adopts Egypt’s Gaza reconstruction plan
The Arab League adopted Egypt’s Gaza reconstruction plan during a summit in Cairo on Tuesday.
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said Riyadh completely rejected the violation of the rights of the Palestinian people and supports a two-state solution.
“We reject settlements and efforts to displace Palestinians,” Prince Faisal said during his speech. He added that Saudi Arabia supports a two-state solution with the right of self-determination for Palestinians while affirming the need for international guarantees to implement the ceasefire in Gaza.
He also said that the reconstruction of Gaza must be completed with Gazans remaining there. Washington has called for relocating Gazans to a third country, potentially permanently, while Gaza is rebuilt.
“We stand by the Palestinian Authority in the steps that it has taken toward security and stability,” Prince Faisal said.
